Core Coordinate & Graph Rules

1. Golden Reading Rule: “Along the corridor, then up the stairs” → (x, y). Always read the horizontal x-axis first, followed by the vertical y-axis.
2. Four Quadrants Map:
• Quadrant 1: (+, +)
• Quadrant 2: (−, +)
• Quadrant 3: (−, −)
• Quadrant 4: (+, −)
3. Midpoint Formula: The midpoint of (x₁, y₁) and (x₂, y₂) is always: [ (x₁ + x₂) ÷ 2 , (y₁ + y₂) ÷ 2 ].
4. Translations: A vector shift [a, b] adds a to x and b to y. Shape size and orientation are strictly preserved.

Top 3 11+ Graph Traps

TRAP 1
Reversing Axes (y, x): Never read vertical before horizontal! Always double-check by tracing your finger along the x-axis from 0 first.
TRAP 2
Distance-Time Flat Line: A horizontal flat section does NOT mean going downhill or traveling slowly! It means distance is unchanged — the traveler is completely stopped.
TRAP 3
Reflection Axis Confusion: Reflecting across the x-axis flips the y-coordinate ((x, −y)). Reflecting across the y-axis flips the x-coordinate ((−x, y)).
