About TestLife

TestLife is an 11+ practice platform and in-person mock test provider based in Slough, Berkshire. We help Year 4 and Year 5 children prepare for grammar school entrance exams with short daily practice, timed mock papers and clear explanations, and we help their parents see exactly what to work on next.

Why TestLife exists

TestLife was started by parents who had taken their own children through the 11+. Like most families, they found plenty of practice books, but very little that told them which topics their child was weak at, or what a real exam morning would feel like.

So TestLife was built around two ideas:

  • Practise the right thing. Every question is tagged to a topic, so progress tracking shows where marks are being lost, whether that is ratio, cube nets or punctuation.
  • Make exam day feel familiar. Our in-person mocks run under real exam conditions, so the first time your child sits a timed paper in a hall full of strangers is not the real test.

They still run TestLife day to day: writing and checking the mock papers, running the mock test mornings, and answering parents' messages themselves.

What we offer

Online 11+ practice

In-person 11+ mock tests

We run exam-style 11+ mock tests at Langley Academy in Slough on Sunday mornings from March to August. Every child gets a detailed performance report, a topic breakdown, video solutions and the chance to re-attempt the paper online. Our 2027 dates start on 14 March.

Which exams we prepare for

Our mock tests follow similar patterns to the GL Assessment 11+ tests (used in Buckinghamshire and many other areas) and the Quest-style test used by the Slough Consortium (Herschel, Langley Grammar, St Bernard’s Catholic and Upton Court). They are also useful practice for CEM, FSCE and other formats. Our Maths and English content follows the KS2 national curriculum, so it supports schoolwork and SATs revision too.

TestLife is independent. We are not affiliated with GL Assessment, any exam board, or any grammar school, including Langley Grammar School or the Slough Consortium.

How our questions are made

  • Every question is original and written in British English. Mock tests are unique, and questions do not repeat across papers.
  • Each question is checked for accuracy before it is released, and has a worked explanation.
  • Parents and children can report any question they think is wrong straight from the quiz, and we review every report.
