Techniques and Exam Habits

Key rules and methods to solve Analogy quickly and accurately.

Rule 1: Build a precise bridge sentence for the first pair

Create an exact sentence describing how word A relates to word B (e.g., "A [Puppy] is a young [Dog]"). Apply the exact sentence structure to word C.

Rule 2: Watch part of speech and directionality

If the first pair is tool → worker (e.g. Scalpel → Surgeon), the second pair must follow the same direction (e.g. Chisel → Sculptor, not Sculptor → Chisel).

Example: Glove is to Hand as Sock is to ( ? )
Bridge sentence: A glove is worn on the hand; a sock is worn on the foot.
Answer: FOOT.
