Techniques and Exam Habits

Key rules and methods to solve Mirror Reflection quickly and accurately.

Rule 1: Features closest to the mirror line stay closest in reflection

Measure perpendicular distance from the mirror line. If an arrow points toward the mirror line on the left, its reflection must point toward the mirror line from the right.

Rule 2: Vertical reflection flips top/bottom; horizontal flips left/right

Always check the orientation of the dashed mirror line. A vertical mirror line inverts left ↔ right only (top and bottom stay identical).

Mirror rule: An asymmetrical flag with the pole on the left and the flag pointing right reflected across a vertical mirror line on its right side → Flag points left, pole is on the right.
